Say hi to “BINIwockeez”! BINI surprised their fans with their humorous Jabbawockeez-inspired outfits as they headed to General Santos City on July 19 for their “BINIverse” concert.
This came after they received backlash for wearing facemasks, caps, and shades during their arrival at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport in Cebu. ICYDK, BINI recently drew mixed reactions for “excessively” covering their faces upon arrival at the airport.
Several netizens labeled them “OA” and “feeling K-pop” for doing so. Following incidents where member Maloi was mobbed by fans and Aiah encountered a man who allegedly invaded her personal space, their fans, known as BLOOMs, came to their defense, emphasizing concerns about safety and privacy.
Days after the controversy, BINI dressed up in matching khaki hoodies, sweatpants, and white full-face masks resembling the American hip-hop dance crew, Jabbawockeez. It sparked speculation of a playful reference to the current situation.
On X, the hashtags #MasksShadesCap and #BINIKarmaDDay took over the Philippines trends, while BLOOMs called their move the “biggest clapback in P-pop history.”
BINI members even shared photos and clips of them in their Jabbawockeez-inspired outfits!
