Bensimon DIY: Fulfill Your Creative Dreams
Sneakers never go out of style. In fact, they have come a long way from the staple dress down style that they once were to a real style statement.
Bensimon was recently introduced to Manila. With its aesthetics of simple and wearable design, the Filipino market instantly fell in love with the brand. Bensimon founder Serge and Yves Bensimon made this chic design that became an icon of classic sneaker design.
Although Bensimon already has a variety of colors and designs available, Common Thread and the brand opened their doors for everyone who wanted to let their creative pinterest dreams come to life.
Crafts Manila joined Bensimon and Common Thread as they helped everyone in customizing their sneakers.
There were a lot of art materials to choose from. Letter stamps, textile paints, beads, sequences, buttons, glitters, sharpies and any other material you could possibly need to glam up your sneaks.
I got plain white sneakers – the perfect canvas!
To be honest, I had a hard time deciding what to do with my Bensimons because, like everyone else, I was afraid of ruining its simple beauty.
So many materials to choose from!
I sat amidst this artsy crazy bunch and some of their creations were pretty nice.
I was afraid to paint on my Bensimons because things might’ve gotten really messy, so my weapon of choice instead? Sharpies!
I wanted my sneakers to be simple and cute, so I drew some strawberries on the back part of the shoes and a bit of red and green highlights across the front.
It was an hour before the mall closed when I finished both of my DIY shoes and voila! My strawberry Bennies! 🙂
Go ahead and check out the cool and comfy designs of Bensimon!
