“Watch out for Belle Mariano and Direk Cathy Garcia-Sampana in a star-studded movie soon!” it wrote, garnering excitement and anticipation among fans and viewers.
In a YouTube video uploaded by ABS-CBN, both figures expressed their excitement for the upcoming film, which is expected to be a “star-studded” project.
“Ako po kinakabahan ako (I am nervous). All I can say is this is gonna be a star-studded film, I’m gonna be with artists who I really look up to in the industry… Of course working with direk again it’s really such an honor cause I know every step of the way, I will learn from direk and with other artists as well,” the actress told MJ Felipe in an exclusive interview.
“In everything I do naman, as much as I can, I try to enlighten myself with the things I don’t know yet,” she shared, adding that it is her first time doing a full-length film without her on-screen partner Donny Pangilinan.
Meanwhile, the renowned film director shared her excitement about seeing the young actress adapt to a new environment and work with veteran actors in the industry. She was known for being the director behind commercially successful movies such as “Four Sisters and a Wedding,” “She’s Dating the Gangster,” “The Hows of Us,” “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” and the current highest-grossing Filipino film of all time “Hello Love, Again.”
Despite taking on an individual project, the 22-year-old actress assured “DonBelle” fans that she and Donny are supportive of each other’s solo projects: “We’ve both been open about it, we are both supportive of each other.”
“I believe that distance makes the heart grow fonder,” she candidly joked.
This is not the first time they have worked together. She has worked with the director in the 2023 hit series “Can’t Buy Me Love.”
As for the movie details, the director revealed that it is not a love story but a genre she hasn’t explored often.
“We always make sure na maganda ‘tong pelikulang ‘to, makakapagbigay tayo ng good values sa mga manonood, at marerepresent natin ‘yung mga Pinoy families, principles, mga world views natin (that this film is well-made, delivers good values to the audience, and represents Filipino families, principles, and world views),” she shared. “We hope to make a one international standard film, ‘yun ang goal (that’s the goal).”
Belle Mariano is a popular actress and singer who starred in several hit television series such as “He’s Into Her,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and “How to Spot a Red Flag.” She also headlined several films including “Love Is Color Blind” and “An Inconvenient Love” alongside Donny Pangilinan.
