When asked about ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson and all the conflict their relationship went through, Bea Alonzo was clear about one thing: “Tapos na ako doon, okay na ako.” [I’m done with that, I’m okay now.]

“Okay na ako, saka sobrang daming blessings ang dumating. Parang nag-360, parang ang daming dapat kong ipagpasalamat and na-realize ko ang dami pa palang mas importante sa buhay ko, hindi lang dyowa,” Bea continued. [I’m really okay now, especially with all the blessings I’ve received. It’s like my life did a 360 turn, I have so many things to be thankful for and I realized that there are so many more important things in life than a boyfriend.]
She continued to answer questions unabashedly during a press conference for her upcoming movie, Unforgettable. Even when asked about being ready to date she remained completely candid, first clarifying that she was definitely not yet seeing anyone new: “Wala pa naman po… parang magpapahinga muna ako, parang hindi ko pa kaya.” [There is no one yet…I want to rest first, I don’t think I’m ready yet.]
“Hindi naman kailangang magka-boyfriend para patunayan na naka-move on ka na,” Bea shares and honestly, we couldn’t agree more. [You don’t need a new boyfriend to prove that you’ve moved on.]
However, she does say that the answer is not to build walls up around yourself either. “Hindi naman isasarado, magpapagaling ka lang and then ‘pag dumating ang tamang panahon, kapag ready ka na ulit, e di open mo na ‘yung heart mo ulit,” Bea concludes. [You don’t close yourself off, but let yourself heal first and then when the time is right, when you’re ready again, then you open your heart once again.]
