Baguio’s Session Road Now Closed to Vehicles During Sundays

Manila isn’t the only place in the Philippines that suffers from pollution. Even the summer capital gets its fair share of pollution every now and then. In an effort to encourage people to go green and walk, Baguio city now has decided to enforce a new policy–no more cars on the famous Session Road every Sunday.

Starting August 18, 2019, the uphill part of the famous road will be closed to traffic from 6 am until 9 pm on Sundays. Taxis and private vehicles are still free to go to the downhill part.5d5a6bdbd4177 5d5a6bdbd41c91200px Session Road sunrise center island Baguio Benguet2018 11 26.jpg

This experimental policy will run for 6 months. The results of the experiment will determine whether the scheme will be implemented long-term.
