Ever wondered what it feels like to walk down a car-free Ayala Avenue? We’ll now all know what that’s like, as one of the busiest roads in Metro Manila will be closed down every Sunday morning this September to give way to civilians.
Ayala Avenue is one of the most famous (and arguably one of the prettiest) roads in the Philippines. Lined with modern skyscrapers, it’s a 2.3-kilometer thoroughfare spanning the central business district of Makati.

Makatizens and guests are invited to enjoy the famous avenue equipped with their skates or skateboards, bicycles, and e-scooters. Or you can simply take a leisurely walk, perhaps with your dog, to take in the car-less views. Runners and other fitness enthusiasts are encouraged to join, too.
The car-free Sunday mornings at Ayala Avenue will take place every Sunday this September, on September 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 6 to 10 am. A grand launch was supposed to be held last September 3 but was moved to the following Sunday, September 10, due to heavy rains that weekend.

On September 1o, a few fitness activities will be held as part of the car-free Sundays grand launch. You can join a 5-kilometer fun run with Adidas Runners Manila (accompanied by live music from the Hernandez Brothers) and a yoga-in-the-park class by Movement in Play at Ayala Triangle Gardens.
