Are you planning to treat your family and friends, or perhaps go on a well-deserved dinner with your colleagues after a fun and tiring team-building activity? Maybe you’re simply in the mood to channel your inner main character energy who loves feasting on sizzling Korean barbecue, just like in your favorite K-dramas. Whatever the occasion may be, indulging in a premium Korean dining experience always feels like a well-deserved reward.
The thing is: when we think of Korean barbecue in the Philippines, what often comes to mind are the affordable, unlimited meat buffets. While those can be satisfying in their own way, nothing quite compares to the taste, quality, and experience of legit, authentic Korean barbecue. Luckily, Woori Korean BBQ House brings exactly that—and more.
Upon entering the restaurant, you’re welcomed with clean, minimalist interiors inspired by contemporary Korean design. The lighting is soft and subtle, creating a cozy ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxed yet elevated dining experience.
Since we came here after a fun and memorable indoor golf simulation at Alpha Sports Elite, which is conveniently located in the same building as Woori, we were able to fully enjoy the restaurant’s clean and elegant dining space. The long table was neatly set with white square plates paired with small round dipping bowls, along with metal chopsticks and spoons placed beside neatly folded white napkins.
Authentic Korean food within reach
As soon as we were served Woori’s refreshing banchan—or Korean side dishes—and their delicious small plates, we already knew we were in for a joyous celebration!
For those who frequent unlimited Korean barbecue restaurants, these side dishes are no strangers to the palate. However, it’s rare to come across haepari naengchae (jellyfish salad) in most mainstream Korean spots. Light, acidic, and refreshingly unique, this appetizer instantly stood out and did a great job of cleansing the palate for the feast ahead.
Their yukhwe (beef tartare) is also a tough contender! Made with premium hanwoo beef, thinly sliced pears, and topped with an organic free-range egg yolk, this dish is surprisingly light and delicate. If the idea of eating raw meat feels unfamiliar or intimidating, this version is approachable and refined.
More small plates followed, including a flavorful haemul pajeon (seafood pancake) with just the right amount of crispy pan-fried mandoo (dumplings), and a soft, pillowy gyeran jjim (Korean egg souffle) that melted in our mouths. Each dish complemented the others beautifully, highlighting a balance of textures and subtle flavors that warmed up our appetites.
Premium, mouthwatering meats
While we would’ve loved to stuff ourselves with these delightful appetizers, we knew we had to pace ourselves! We were saving room for the real stars of the night: Woori’s high-quality meats.
This restaurant proudly offers high-quality Korean hanwoo, which is a beloved Korean beef. Known for its superior marbling, tender texture, and rich beefy flavor, hanwoo delivers a melt-in-your-mouth experience that’s both luxurious and satisfying. They are also providing a variety of cuts to suit different preferences, such as ribeye, boneless short rib, skirt steak, and more.
Beyond their hanwoo selection, Woori also imports premium-grade beef from the U.S., Australia, and Japan, as well as the prized Jeju black pork. When grilled to perfection, these meats are juicy, buttery, and undeniably mouthwatering.
When cooked, these meats deliver an outstanding flavor and smoky aroma that you’re bound to love. Each bite is a savory experience on its own! You can enjoy the meats as is, dipped in your favorite sauce, or paired with a steaming hot serving of Kimchi Paella for a more in-depth flavor.
What makes the experience even better is Woori’s attentive staff, who assist with grilling the meats. This ensures that every cut is cooked to perfection, and you no longer have to worry about burning or overcooking. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy meaningful conversations with your family, friends, or colleagues!
Sweet treat, sweeter memories
Finally, we capped off our memorable dining experience with Woori’s mochi with strawberry! If you’re the type of person who loves “sweet but not too sweet” flavor profiles, you’ll definitely fall in love with this dessert.
And those strawberries? We expected them to be sour, but they turned out to be sweet, succulent, and downright addictive. This dessert alone is reason enough to come back, especially when you order their crowd-favorite bingsu, which also highlights Korean strawberries, red bean, and nut powder.
If you are looking for a more relaxed Korean dining experience that gives you value for your money, then head to Woori! While it may not be the most budget-friendly option, its beautiful ambiance, top-notch service, and high-quality food make every peso worth it.
Besides, if you want to bring your K-drama dining fantasies to life, indulging in an authentic Korean culinary experience is the perfect way to do it.
