This event follows the success of previous Asian Food Channel events in Manila. In March 2011, gastronomic lovers were treated to internationally acclaimed chef Martin Yan’s 8 Treasures of China, while meat lovers rejoiced at the heavily carnivorous menu dished up during The Perfect Cut with Adrian Richardson in December 2011.

A talented and highly acclaimed chef, Chef Hughes is the youngest Canadian chef to win the popular show, Iron Chef America. A true-blue foodie, he is so passionate about food that his favourites are permanently inked on his arms in the form of bacon, lobster, arugula leaves and even lemon meringue pie! After graduating from Institut de tourisme et d’hôtellerie du Québec in Canada, Chef Hughes worked in some of Montreal’s most popular restaurants before opening his first restaurant Garde Manger, a den-like restaurant he calls his playground where he puts his magical spin on comfort food, and indulges in his fantasy of creating decadent meals served alongside his favourite rock soundtracks! Continuing with his unwavering respect for the finest produce, Chef Hughes is committed to having quality ingredients speak for themselves and he has since opened his second eatery, Le Bremner, with his two best friends.

In 2010, Chef Hughes welcomed the world into his Garde Manger kitchen with his hit television show Chuck’s Day Off. The series follows him cooking for friends, family or suppliers on the day his restaurant is closed. Sandwiched in between mouth-watering recipes are rock ‘n’ roll reality segments that give viewers a unique insight behind the scenes of one of Montreal’s hottest restaurants. Chuck’s Day Off airs on the Asian Food Channel, every Wednesday at 9pm.

For this event, held at Greenbelt Open Park, audience will be treated to a live show of rock and roll music and get to witness how to create as well as sample unique dishes such as Crispy Sockeye Salmon Fillet, Pan-grilled Scallops on Green Gazpacho and Chocolate Tapioca Arancini.
