The 33rd Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) Star Awards for Television took place last October 13 at the Henry Lee Irwin Theater, Ateneo de Manila University. Many were recognized for the commendable work done on television this past year but one of the big winners of the night wasn’t an awardee — in fact, she wasn’t even a nominee!
Maine Mendoza just happens to be lucky enough to have someone like Arjo Atayde who is both sweet and talented. Talented because Arjo bagged the award of Best Drama Supporting Actor for his role on The General’s Daughter and sweet because of the portion of his speech dedicated solely to Maine.
After thanking the studio, his fellow cast members, and fans during his acceptance speech Arjo opened up about his fears and insecurities regarding the role. He ended the speech on a sentimental note, taking the time to give Maine a special toast: “Last but not the least, Maine, thank you so much for being such an inspiration, for being my every day, for keeping up with my weirdness, this one’s for you.”
If only someone was able to catch Maine’s real-time reaction to this dedication!
