According to Apple, the iPhone 16e offers powerful capabilities at a lower price point. The new model also adapts the Apple Intelligence, which is a personalized AI system that helps users communicate and get things done at a much faster rate.

“iPhone 16e packs in the features our users love about the iPhone 16 lineup, including breakthrough battery life, fast performance powered by the latest-generation A18 chip, an innovative 2-in-1 camera system, and Apple Intelligence,” said Kaianne Drance, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPhone Product Marketing through their website. “We’re so excited for iPhone 16e to complete the lineup as a powerful, more affordable option to bring the iPhone experience to even more people.”

One might ask: What makes it stand out from other models? The new phone currently boasts the best battery life on a 6.1-inch iPhone, which is said to last up to six hours longer than the iPhone 11 and lasts 12 hours longer than all the previous generations of iPhone SE.

The new phone is also powered by Apple’s latest-generation A18 chip, which is used in more expensive models and enables the gadget’s fast and smooth performance. Additionally, its 4-core GPU enables impeccable graphics performance for those who are into mobile gaming.

Also, this model supports Apple Intelligence, unlocking more capabilities that make it different from much older phones. It features the Clean Up tool, the Image Playground, Genmoji, and access to ChatGPT which is integrated into Writing Tools and Siri.

However, the new phone misses out on the wide-angle lens that is typically seen in much more expensive models. Despite that, it features a 48-megapixel sensor and a 2-in-1 camera system.

Available only in black and white, the lower-cost model’s most noticeable change is the removal of the home button. The last iPhone model with the touch ID button was the 2022 iPhone SE.

In the Philippines, the new model is priced at P39,990 (128 GB), P46,990 (256 GB), and P58,990 (512 GB). It is also $200 less expensive than the cheapest version of iPhone 16, which was launched in September 2024.

The iPhone 16e will be available for pre-order in 59 countries from February 21 and will ship on February 28.
