When In ManilaAndrea Brillantes is ready for the big break as she stars in the remake of Annaliza.

In an exclusive interview, the new child wonder shared her journey to stardom. “Nong bata po ako hindi pa po ako marunong  umarte (I didn’t know how to act before). Nong nag audtion po ako nakatulala lang po ako (When I auditioned I didn’t make a move). Wala po akong ginawa kaya hindi po ako nakuha (I didn’t do anything so I wasn’t accepted). Pero nong nag seven po ako sumali po ako sa isang contest, don ko po ginalingan tapos po nanalo po ako (But when I turned seven I joined a contest, I gave it my best and I won). Don ko po sinabi kay mama na gusto kong maging artista (That was when I told my mom I want to be a star),” she remarked.

When asked how she feels now that she landed a lead role, she relayed, “Siyempre po masaya (Of course, I’m happy). Gusto ko na po talagang panoorin ang Annaliza (I want to watch Annaliza now).” With so many child stars now in the industry, Andrea is quick to comment that there is no pressure on her part to top the other stars.

On the lessons that she learned from portraying Annaliza, she shared, “Kahit madami siyang napagdadaanan na mahirap nakangiti pa rin siya (Despite her struggles she never stops smiling). Tsaka mabait siya sa kapwa niya mga tao at kahit inaaway siya tina-try pa rin niyang makipagbati sa mga nang-aaway sa kanya (Even she’s not treated well, she’s still nice to everyone).”

Now that she’s working with some of the big celebrities like Zanjoe Marudo and Kaye Abad, Andrea shared that she’s having a very nice time on the set. “Good po sila (They’re good). Mababait naman sila sa akin eh (They’re all nice to me),” she said.

Andrea was such a pleasure to talk to. She was all smiles during our conversation. Her innocence and charm were palpable. Truly, she’s a star that is about to shine her brightest. Her wit, beauty and charisma will propel her to greater heights. But the invited press and bloggers couldn’t help but wonder, does she still want to be like the regular kids now that she’s in showbiz? Does she still want to attend regular school? “Gusto ko po talaga mag regular eh kasi ‘yung mga friends ko po love na love ko sila kasi 4 years na kaming magkakasama eh (I really want to attend regular school because I love my friends, we’re friends for 4 years now),” she commented. No doubt that this kid has a heart of gold as well.

With the success that she has achieved at such a young age, Andrea shared that her parents are very supportive of her. “Supportive po talaga sila dahil gusto din talaga nila akong maging artista (They are really supportive of my career). Naiiyak nga po sila sa mga scene ko eh (They cry in my scenes in the show),” she remarked.
