The Straits Times reported that Macau gambling tycoon Alvin Chau has given Malaysian-American model Mandy Lieu a “breakup fee” at the close of their union. The tycoon is said to have gifted HK$300 million (around Php 1.9 billion) to his mistress when she ended their relationship.

Lieu is believed to have left Chau due to his apparent intentions of staying with his wife, Heidi Chan. Chau and Chan have two children together and Chau has always been adamant about keeping his family together. However, many believe that Chau’s favor has also been tending towards Chan due to society sightings of the two together. Such rumors may have made Lieu feel insecure and seek a separation.
However, Lieu has also had 3 children with Chau over the course of their 5-year relationship. Chau is said to have promised to continue his support and visits with them.
