Alex Eala Falls Short At Miami Open Semifinals

Alex Eala fell short against Jessica Pegula in the Miami Open semifinals.

In the first set, Alex lost in the tiebreaker with a score of 6(3)-7. Meanwhile, the Filipina tennis player made an impressive comeback in the second set with a score of 7-5.

For the third and final set, Jessica clinched with a score of 3-6.

The 19-year-old tennis star has won three consecutive times. She first defeated world No. 25 Jelena Ostapenko, followed by world No. 5 Madison Keys and world No. 2 Iga Swiatek.

Despite the loss, she has become the first Filipino tennis player to defeat a top-10 opponent since the WTA ranking system was introduced in 1975. She is also the first Filipina to reach the semifinals of a WTA 1000 tournament.
