Search for the Best Cupcakes in Singapore: Twelve Cupcakes

Here’s a post following my Search for the Best Cupcakes in Singapore. First I have featured Plain Vanilla and now let’s talk about Twelve Cupcakes. Frankly speaking, Twelve Cupcakes will hit your taste buds with one word, uncomplicated. But the owners have incorporated some twists to it by adding a wide array of fancy flavors: Green Tea Chocolate, Rose on a Rose,  Black Sesame, Bailey’s Chocolate to name a few. Sure, their cupcakes are undeniably  light,  moist and not overly rich.  Let’s cut to the chase here. If you are more on the fancy flavor side, Twelve Cupcakes is for you as they have something special for you to try every single day. Let’s say if am having the sugar rush, Twelve Cupcakes is where I’d go; for that decadent cupcake craving and satisfaction…then Plain Vanilla it is.

 

 

 

 

 

 

TWELVE CUPCAKES

 Life is too short, don’t save the best for last.

If there is one flavor that Twelve Cupcakes boasts of, it’s their RED VELVET. The signature decadent good ol’ classic cupcake. It’s a bad boy I may say. It’s one cupcake that’d leave you clamoring for more after your first bite. They got a great mix of taste and frosting in it.  The Salted Caramel was an impulse pick, but boy it sure did kick. If Plain Vanilla’s rise to stardom was due to their Salted Caramel, it’s gotta be Red Velvet for Twelve Cupcakes. I was so pumped when I got to taste it, perhaps the best Red Velvet Cupcake I have come across in Singapore. I was also glad that the icing is not overly thick. Left them at room temperature and it got better within the next day as well. The Red Velvet frosting was still intact and creamy. If you have issues with frosting, do not expect that big hump to come with your cupcake.  

Albeit the creativity with regards to all the flavors they keep on producing, I was champing at the bit of the idea that one day consumers would think or even say, “The cake may be good and delish but there is a fake tasting frosting going on already…” Uh-oh.  Crossing-fingers it won’t happen. I have tasted a few like Peanut Butter Jelly, Mocha, Vanilla Chocolate, PB Chocolate and unfortunately that is one thing that crossed my mind. Cupcakes, aside from not letting you fit into your skinny jeans can of course,  get boring at times.
