Twelve Cupcakes started in operations only last July of 2011 but due to a successful massive and positive response, they have opened up to 3-4 stores in a span of one year. No doubt about its going popularity as the owners namely Daniel Ong was a Radio DJ and TV host for almost 18 years. His spouse, Jamie Teo Ong was Miss Singapore Universe 2001 and a TV personality for 10 years. At first one would think that it got the publicity just because of Daniel and Jamie, but it did not take rocket science for people to find out that they really do make good cupcakes. Jamie Ong is currently the creator of all the cupcake recipes, baking is indeed her ultimate passion. I think Jamie Ong is trying to figure out every cupcake flavor under the rainbow, one proof that they always make sure their customers are delighted with something new each and every day.

In malls like ION or Vivo City, you will see Twelve Cupcakes’ nook and its pretty decent shelves ~~almost~~ emptied at the end of the day. Expect long queues after office hours and the SOLD OUT signboard up and about even half an hour before closing time. Their cupcakes are SGD3 a piece; SGD17 for a half dozen. Do note that they charge SGD0.50 for special cupcake flavors…if only they would come in larger sizes then no reason to complain at all. Twelve Cupcakes may lack that certain party in your mouth vibe but they are surely worth checking out. That dollop of frosting is already a reason for you to come back. Two stores done and still on a hunt for a cupcake that would knock my socks off.
