Brace yourselves, webgeeks! Weโre at it again, and weโre bringing you the WebGeek DevCup, an all-day hackathon that will give rise to the most creative and most skillful team to deliver the best web application.ย The WebGeek DevCup is on August 25, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM at the Meralco MultiPurpose Hall, Meralco Compound, Ortigas Center. Just bring your own laptop, development tools (pre-packaged libraries, widgets, and frameworks) and youโre good to go! The organizers will be providing the internet connection, electrical power supply, space, food, and drinks.ย In this event, participants will be given six hours to develop a web application that will be based on the theme to be given that day. At the end of the allotted time, the finished web apps will be presented to the panel of judges that consist of seasoned gurus in the fields of web application development and program management.ย The web apps will be evaluated according to technical complexity, user experience, social relevance, and originality. Those who emerge victorious will win fantastic prizes! Itโs a battle of innovation and creativity, and a day full of fun and challenges!ย This competition is open to all app development enthusiasts! You can go solo, form a duo or trio, and register until August 15. A registration fee of Php250 (individual), Php500 (2 team members), or Php750 (3 team members) will be collected through Eventbrite. Additionally, sponsors and interested individuals are encouraged to support this dynamic event.
