The Multimedia Arts Society of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA – Molino Campus is back and presents Chroma Primera 2026. With the theme “Create Beyond the Ordinary,” this event is centered on student works, celebrating art in digital, traditional, and illustration forms.
Chroma Primera aims to serve as a counterpart to the Cinema Primera Regional Film Festival, a CALABARZON-wide celebration of young storytellers and filmmakers. Both events share one purpose: to provide a platform for underrepresented artists and celebrate their limitless storytelling and the possibilities of their craft.
Under the Multimedia Arts Week, this student-led creative arts event ran from October 19–24, 2026, on the university campus. The week-long event featured seminars, competitions, an art exhibition, and an art market. It welcomed student artists from different institutions to take part in the artistic festivities, where artistic exchange, collaboration, and appreciation of various visual art forms were encouraged and emphasized.
Through the theme “Create Beyond the Ordinary,” the event reflects the shared creative spirit of artists across various disciplines. It promotes endless possibilities in their craft and encourages artists to withstand societal pressure to remain within conventional and conditional forms of art creation. Through connection and the continuous nurturing of young artists, Chroma Primera encourages everyone to turn their imagination into meaningful works of art. The event conveys the belief that in art, there will always be something more to discover and new ways to express oneself through consistent practice.
The Multimedia Arts Society started this event with one vision: to provide a platform for young visual artists across the disciplines of digital, traditional, and illustration art. It hopes to grow the event and community just as the Cinema Primera Regional Film Festival has done for young filmmakers in CALABARZON. It has expanded its reach and aims to continue cultivating a dedicated space where young artists can be nurtured.
This first installment of Chroma Primera features student art exhibits, art competitions, seminars, and art markets for everyone to enjoy. Made possible by the official event partners, Clip Studio Paint and WhenInManila.com, Chroma Primera is ready to help unleash the power within young artists to create works beyond the ordinary.
