If you’ve been keeping an eye on the Philippine advertising and marketing landscape, big changes are happening. Local industry giant DDB Group Philippines has officially stepped into a bold new era, independent and rebranded as GGC Group Asia.
The major shift follows a global decision by parent holding company Omnicom Group to retire the iconic, 75-year-old DDB brand worldwide by mid-2026, following its massive acquisition of the Interpublic Group last year.
For over three decades, DDB Group Philippines has been a staple powerhouse in the local scene. Originally established in 1992 as a partnership between New York’s DDB Worldwide and the pioneering Filipino-owned agency Advertising Marketing and Associates (AMA), the agency has consistently given Filipino creative talent a global stage.
The new name, GGC Group Asia, is inspired by the initials of the group’s Chairman and CEO, Gil G. Chua.
For Chua, this chapter is deeply personal and incredibly humbling.

“This rebrand is more than a change in name — it is a proud affirmation of the legacy, leadership, and vision that have guided our businesses through the years,” Chua shared. “It is incredibly rewarding and humbling to see my own initials become synonymous with the businesses that my family, our business partners, and I have passionately built, nurtured, and grown together over the years.”
While the agency is stepping out on its own, it’s not a total goodbye to its roots. GGC Group Asia will continue to collaborate with the Omnicom Group as needed, ensuring their clients still have seamless access to top-tier global marketing communication tools and resources.
The rebranding isn’t just a surface-level makeover; it comes with a massive business integration. Three of the group’s integrated marketing communications (IMC) agencies that previously carried the DDB or Tribal brands have received fresh new identities:
Meanwhile, their other specialized advertising, PR, and data arms will keep their current names, including Optimax Communications, Agile Intelligence, Ripple8, Touch XDA, and Bent and Buzz.
To make things even bigger, sister companies from the FCT Group—including business and logistics solutions firms like FOSA, Caishen, Track Mnl, Xpress Move, Strawberry Jam, and PhilMovers—are being fully integrated under the GGC Group Asia umbrella.
This brings the group’s total footprint to a staggering 14 companies across 18 office locations nationwide, boasting a combined workforce of over 7,500 employees. This massive network positions GGC Group Asia to deliver a full spectrum of solutions—from viral ad campaigns and PR to back-end logistics—not just for the Philippines, but for the broader Asian market.
If you’re a current client or partner, there’s no need to worry. The group clarified that the rebrand will not affect leadership, talent, ongoing operations, or current client relationships. All existing contracts and service agreements remain fully intact.
Clients can expect the same standard of strategic excellence that has brought the agency a legendary track record. Over the years, the group has racked up historic accolades, including:
-
The Philippines’ very first Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions and first Gold at the AME Awards back in 2013.
-
The country’s only Gold award at Spikes Asia 2025.
-
Multiple Agency of the Year titles at the 4As Philippines, IABC Philippine Quill Awards, and PRSP Anvil Awards.
-
Consistent global and local certifications as a “Great Place to Work”.
As GGC Group Asia enters this defining new chapter, they are carrying forward this rich tradition of excellence—proving that while names might change, world-class Filipino creativity is here to stay.
