Mark your calendars, Manila! The UP Manila Indayog Dance Varsity (UPM IDV) is officially back on stage this May 30, 2026, at the UP Manila Little Theater for their 2026 Showcase Night: “ART/IS [ ]”.
Following the success of last year’s “Catharsis,” this year’s production aims to push boundaries even further as Indayog returns to the stage, offering a fresh take on what it means to be a true artist, led by its dancers who are both the masterpiece and the visionaries behind it.
For the members of Indayog, dance has always been a lifestyle built on three core pillars: discipline, dedication, and passion. These values continue to serve as the pulse behind every production and piece they create.
The thought behind this year’s theme, “ART/IS [ ],” is a creative fill-in-the-blank that challenges the traditional idea of a performer by exploring the intersection of the work and its maker.
Rather than existing as vessels for someone else’s vision, the dancers take ownership of their work as creators, storytellers, and decision-makers, defining for themselves what fills the brackets. UPM IDV will not be the only ones lighting up the stage. The showcase will also feature a lineup of guest performers from the local dance community, making it a full celebration of Manila’s vibrant creative scene.
