Summer in the Philippines just got brighter and more fun, and we have Cup of Joe to thank for that. On May 1, 2026, the award-winning pop-rock band dropped its latest self-written EP, Sandali, and it’s safe to say it had us all hooked at first listen.
Over the past few years, we’ve seen the remarkable five-member group go to great lengths to master their craft and make their mark in Original Pilipino Music (OPM). From the meteoric rise of their inimitable hit song, “Multo,” to the resounding success of their previous album, Silakbo, it was only a matter of time before their vivid, emotionally charged sound became a household name in the industry.

As Sandali makes waves in the local music scene, Cup of Joe is ready as ever to look ahead and conquer new horizons with their Joewahs. The five-track EP promises new chapters, fresh starts, and more fond memories waiting to be made, especially now that the band is slowly but surely going global. Needless to say, we can’t wait to join Gian, Rapha, Xen, Gabriel, and CJ as they set sail towards new musical endeavors and earn more feathers in their caps for their unique artistry.
Whether you’re an OG Cup of Joe stan or a newcomer to the fandom, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in Sandali. Here’s why the band’s latest EP should be on your radar:
A Captivating Lead Single
“Kahit araw at buwan ay magtalo, ‘di magbabago ang aking pagsamo.”
Cup of Joe knows a thing or two about kicking off a new era with a bang. This rings true to “Sandali,” the heartfelt and uplifting lead single of the band’s new EP. Even if our dreams get shrouded in the world’s chaos and uncertainties, this song reassures us that there’s no shame in fighting tirelessly for them and holding on to the people who’ve cheered us on along the way.
“Sandali” first captured our hearts in September last year, upon the announcement of Cup of Joe’s Stardust concert and seventh anniversary. Since then, the song has held an irreplaceable bond between the band and their Joewahs—a spark of hope they can always turn to when life stretches them too thin.
Seven months later, “Sandali” now joins four equally mesmerizing songs on Cup of Joe’s latest undertaking in OPM.
Bursts of Radiant Energy

There’s no denying Cup of Joe’s ability to soundtrack our universal experiences with yearning, life-altering breakups, and unrequited love. But the band’s versatility and artistic growth also know no bounds, and the Sandali EP can attest to that.
Cup of Joe took a leap of faith this time around, from Silakbo’s dramatic, somber storytelling to Sandali’s musings on the infinite possibilities ahead of us. All five tracks are living proof that, sometimes, the greatest act of kindness you can give yourself is to keep moving forward, even when hardships stunt your lifelong aspirations.
Every song on Sandali captures a pivotal experience in our lives that holds great meaning, no matter how bittersweet it may be:
- There’s “Pamahiin,” an upbeat, nostalgic anthem about taking risks (or losing chances) that transports you into your favorite coming-of-age flick,
- “Kung Payagan,” which takes us on a journey through second chances and the sacrifices we make for our dreams,
- “Lalayo,” a timeless portrayal of the push-and-pull in a rocky relationship, where perspectives shift between holding on and wondering if there’s ever a right time to let go,
- “Isang Daan,” a masterfully written musing about the 100 (or more) fears that might hold you back and the one road you must take to rise above them,
- And of course, “Sandali,” our go-to song for taking a breather and living in the moment amid the real world’s unbridled chaos.
No matter where love and life take us, Cup of Joe will hold our hands through every rumination, breakthrough, and moment of clarity. If Sandali signifies the band’s colorful journey as storytellers and hitmakers through and through, then the EP can also help us thrive in our own right as we work towards our fully realized selves.

If you can’t get enough of the stellar songs on Sandali, then you’re in luck. You can watch the band perform all of them (and more!) at SANDALI: The Cup of Joe Fest, live at the Philippine Sports Stadium.
You heard that right. On May 23, 2026, Cup of Joe is heading to Bulacan for “one unforgettable summer night of water splashes, lights, and thousands of voices under one sky.” Needless to say, we’re stoked to celebrate this new milestone with them and gear up for whatever surprises they have in store for us.
If you want to explore the OPM scene but don’t know where to start, then look no further than Cup of Joe’s Sandali. One listen to the EP (and perhaps a ticket to their concert this month) is all you need to take a chance on Filipino artists and their unwavering labors of love.
