Batik Air Malaysia is celebrating a decade of flying to and from Perth, a milestone that highlights the airline’s ongoing connectivity and travel options for passengers.
To mark the anniversary, the airline hosted activities at Perth Airport, including commemorative displays, giveaways, and special surprises for travellers throughout the day.

Batik Air currently operates seven weekly direct flights between Perth and Kuala Lumpur, as well as seven weekly one-stop services to Denpasar, Bali. In response to growing demand, the airline will add 11 direct flights in December 2025, expanding options for leisure and business travellers.
Perth Airport’s acting chief commercial & aviation officer, James Gorton, noted that Malaysia has become Western Australia’s fifth-largest international visitor market, contributing $131 million (around ₱7.7 billion) to the state’s visitor economy in the fiscal year. Batik Air was also Perth Airport’s first airline entry into the Australian market.
Meanwhile, Batik Air CEO Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy said the milestone reflects the strength of air connectivity in supporting travel and regional ties. He added that the airline plans to focus on offering “greater choice, comfort, and consistency” as it looks ahead to the next decade.
Since its launch in 2013, Batik Air has grown its network to cover more than 60 destinations across 20 countries, operating a fleet of 52 aircraft, including six A330-300s and 46 B737-8/800s. The airline carried 6.6 million passengers in 2024, up from 4.5 million in 2023.
For travellers planning a visit to Malaysia or Bali, or returning to Perth, Batik Air continues to provide multiple flight options and promotional fares to mark its 10-year milestone.
