According to the latest partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Duterte has secured 659,557 votes, far ahead of Karlo Nograles, who received only 80,426 votes.

Meanwhile, his son, Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, is also leading the vice mayoral race with 648,334 votes as of this writing.

Duterte served as mayor of Davao City for over 20 years across seven terms before being elected President of the Philippines in 2016.

In March, Duterte was arrested on charges of crimes against humanity related to his administration’s war on drugs. He is scheduled to appear before the International Criminal Court in The Hague this September for a hearing to confirm the charges against him.
