Dianne Medina couldn’t help but compare her tuition fee when she was her son’s age over 30 years ago to that of her son today when she recently unearthed a receipt detailing how much her parents had paid for her Kindergarten education.
According to her caption on her Instagram stories, her tuition at Holy Spirit School in Quezon City had “only” cost PHP 2,751.50, which Dianne noted was an astronomically low price compared to what she is currently paying to her son’s current school: PHP170K.
“Cleaning our old house! Dami ko nahalungkat,” she said. “Grabe yung tuition fee ko may receipt na dated May 7, 1991, Kinder, Holy Spirit QC—2751.50 pesos lang. Fast forward now 170K si Joaquin Nursery 2.”

A lot of people have since expressed shock at how expensive her son’s primary school education cost while others noted that one cannot fairly compare prices that are decades apart due to inflation.
Dianne is currently married to Rodjun Cruz and have two children: Joaquin and Isabella.
