Pinoy Animated Film “Hayop Ka!” to Have Big Screen Debut in Major International Film Festival

Filipino-made animated film “Hayop Ka! The Nimfa Dimaano Story” is all set to make its big debut on the big screen through an international film festival, film producer Rocketsheep Studio announced on Monday, June 14.

Rocketsheep Studio revealed on a Facebook post that the movie, which features the voices of Angelica Panganiban, Sam Milby, and Robin Padilla among many others, will be part of the lineup of films to be showcased in the Festival international du film d’animation d’Annecy (or Annecy International Animation Film Festival) in France.

“Popcorn, wine & baguettes for all!!! Annecy is the most prestigious animation festival in the world & for them to select our silly film is a massive honor. It makes us feel like we are doing something right,” the post read.

The 2021 Annecy International Animation Film Festival is currently ongoing until June 20, Saturday.

“Hayop Ka!” premiered on Netflix on October 29, 2020. It is an adult animated romantic comedy directed by Avid Liongoren who is known for directing the 2016 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Saving Sally.”

The story follows a perfume salesperson who becomes dissatisfied with her ordinary life and eventually starts cheating on her boyfriend for a wealthy high-profile entrepreneur.
