5 Times We Got Extra Kilig at Boyce Avenue’s Valentine’s Concert in Manila

After a year, the boys of Boyce Avenue came back to the Philippines to serenade us at their Valentine’s concert along with some of the most-streamed OPM song artists, December Avenue and I Belong To The Zoo. After serenading people in Pangasinan, Cebu, and Davao, Boyce Avenue’s last leg was held in Manila.

5 Times We Got Extra Kilig at Boyce Avenue’s Valentine’s Concert in Manila

5. When we heard their front acts’ hugot songs

The perfect pre-game before Boyce Avenue, I Belong To The Zoo and December Avenue’s hugot songs were a great combination. I Belong To The Zoo started the show with his iconic hugot songs that also happen to be crowd favorites, Sana and Balang Araw.

After that, December Avenue performed their romantic songs Kung Di Rin Lang Ikaw and Sa Ngalan ng Pag-Ibig to complete the pre-game experience.

4. Hearing Boyce Avenue speak Filipino

The boys started the show by saying “Mabuhay”. During the show, they also kept reiterating “Salamat” as a sign of appreciation that the crowd decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day with them.

Aside from that, they also showed their appreciation for the Filipinos’ love for acoustic music. It was also funny how they asked us if we love taking selfies.

Another moment I won’t soon forget is Alejandro saying “Mahal namin kayo” before singing their last song, Iris.

3. Their surprise collaboration with I Belong to the Zoo and December Avenue

The boys surprised us with a collaboration with I Belong to the Zoo’s Argee Guerrero, singing a duet: James Arthur’s Say You Won’t Let Go.

The avenues combined, too, by singing another duet: Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years

These awesome collaborations were totally unexpected, and they turned out great. I wonder who they’ll be collaborating with next.

2. Their performances overall

The boys serenaded us with popular cover songs, like as the band’s favorite Fast Car, TornCastle on the Hill and Every Breath You Take. Their version of Can’t Help Falling In Love and Perfect made the night even more romantic. Aside from that, they also serenaded us with some original songs, including Cinderella, Queen of Hearts, Hear Me Now, and On My Way.

1. Their Unplugged set

A first for the band on this tour, the boys unplugged their instruments and played their rendition of Oasis’ Wonderwall at the big dome. The crowd sang along with them all throughout; it was magical.

Thank you for making our Valentine’s Day more kilig!

#AvenuesWithTheZoo definitely made our Valentine’s Day a memorable and romantic one. Can’t wait for Boyce Avenue to come back again soon.
