I recently wrote a travel guide about the trendiest spots in Baguio that includes activities, restaurants, and even museums to visit if you want to immerse yourself in some art and culture. One of those places was Potenciana Avenue. From the interiors to the food, this café proves itself worthy of a spot on anyone’s itinerary in the City of Pines.
Potenciana Avenue is the sister café of Arca’s Yard, the home of the OG Camote Pie in Baguio. The owner, Ninja Sabado, shares that she opened Potenciana Avenue as a tribute to her mother. To share her mother’s passion for art, she curated aesthetically-pleasing pieces for every part of the ancestral home-turned-café that everyone can appreciate.
There are four levels to Potenciana Avenue, each of which exudes a different vibe and ensures a personalized dining experience for everyone who visits.
Starting at the upper ground floor, there’s the attic area, a minimalist space for those who want a picnic-like setup. Its clean white backdrop and high ceiling make it a dreamy place to be — kind of like Alice in Wonderland!
The ground floor is almost the same in style, but the arrangement can be likened to a living room. It has two long tables for big groups.
Going one flight down, the vibe is totally different. Its cabin-inspired décor gives a homey feeling to its diners, regardless of who they’re with. There is the sofa area and two dining tables right across the kitchen.
Lastly, Potenciana Avenue holds an Erotica Gallery at the basement. This playful quarter displays love and lust in the most beautiful way possible.
You can also choose to dine at their couches or dining table.
Some places are all visuals, but Potenciana Avenue makes sure people will enjoy their dishes equally. Here are some of our recommendations:
Greek Salad (P280 | Good for 2-3 pax)
Feast on assorted vegetables topped with gouda cheese.
Complement the salty-nutty profile of the cheese with their Strawberry Vinaigrette.
Four Cheese Pizza (P640 | Good for 3-4 pax)
This 16-inch pizz is great for sharing. Their homemade crust is almost biscuit-like—giving you an enjoyable, uber-cheesy bite in every slice.
Pan-Fried Fish Fillet (P240 | Good for 1 pax)
There are also solo meals on their menu, too. This one comes with aioli sauce for saturation.
Fish & Chips (P240 | Good for 1 pax)
This fish dish comes in a big serving size with a generous amount of potato wedges—a good choice to fill your tummy!
Breaded Pork (P240 | Good for 1 pax)
With a creamy sauce on the side, this makes for great comfort food. You’ll adore its crispy breading and juicy insides along with its buttered vegetables.
Chicken Francoise (P245 | Good for 1 pax)
This is a personal favorite of mine. It has creamy sauce (white cheese and natural gravy) poured on tender chicken. It’s a clash of flavor and texture, but they mesh together well.
For dessert, be sure to buy their Potenciana Dessert (P165 | Good for 1 pax)! It’s a creamy dessert with mango bits and tapioca.
