WATCH: Crowds go crazy over BLACKPINK’s Coachella performance

BLACKPINK just became the first all-girl K-pop group to take the Coachella stage. And they did it to much applause and fanfare. Their very first concert performance in the US was readily received by hyped crowds at Coachella, as well as in Times Square where it was being broadcasted by Youtube.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa are said to have been personally invited by Paul Tollett, Coachella’s founder, who flew all the way to South Korea to confirm their appearance. It seems that effort did not go to waste at all, based on the crowd’s response to BLACKPINK here:

The group was so touched by the crowd’s interaction that Rosé even gave a small speech to thank them all:

Us coming all the way from South Korea, we didn’t know what to expect, and obviously we’re from totally different worlds. But tonight I think we’ve learned so deeply that music brings us as one. So I want to thank you guys tonight for sticking by to the end of the show. You guys are awesome. And those of you who will be joining us at the concert next week, we’ll see you soon.
