5. There is a trail for everyone.

Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned trail runner, there is something for you at this year’s Salomon X Trail Run. Trail running novices are encouraged to try out the 6k or 12k trail runs, which cater to runners with basic or even no trail running experience who just want to try out the sport for themselves. Both of these two trails will be on mountain bike tracks with lots of jumping and some river crossing, so beginners can still experience real trail running, but with fewer risks and dangers involved.

On the other hand, more experienced trail running athletes can join the 24k and 32k mountain runs. Unlike the two easier trails, the 24k and 32k categories are harder and pack more challenges for contenders. Aside from being more technical, the 24k and 32k trails also feature the “7 Steps”, which are infamous for their very challenging ascent / descent and also feature “Hill 349” the highest and steepest point of the whole trail.

4. You’ll get to witness the greatest views Mother Nature has to offer.

The Salomon X Trail Run is a challenging trail because the race is held in natural forest trails that are not manicured or artificial in any way. During the run, you will encounter a lot of natural obstacles like boulders and trees. Moreover, some of the forest’s wildlife may also make an appearance during the race.

To make the trails even more interesting and motivating for participants, a lot of the natural wonders that the forest has to offer like waterfalls may also be spotted during the race. Without a doubt, the Salomon X Trail Run will be a good opportunity to connect with Mother Nature and see the untouched beauty it has to offer.

3. Salomon X Trail Run is a Green Race.

Ever since 2010, the Salomon X Trail Run has avoided paper cups and other disposable materials in their races. The Salomon X Trail Run has been a pioneer in this movement in the Philippines since its conceptualization. Because the race recognizes the importance of leaving the forest trails in the same pristine condition it was before the race, Salomon X Trail Run encourages participants to leave no trace by bringing their own reusable water bottles.

Moreover, the Salomon X Trail Run understands the importance of respecting nature and wildlife. The race is against bulldozing the forest and only uses the natural trails. Any animals blocking the trail aren’t also shooed away but instead, the race is rerouted in order to not disturb the wildlife.

2. You’ll get to meet lots of new people.

Aside from meeting other athletes with the same passion for trail running, joining this year’s Salomon X Trail Run in Subic Bay will also give you the opportunity to interact with the indigenous people who own the natural heritage land the race is held on. Salomon X Trail Run places huge importance in creating a social and cultural impact by not only involving locals in preparation and activities of the race itself, but also by giving them the chance to share their culture with other people.

1. It will be very fulfilling to finish.

Even for seasoned trail runners, the Salomon X Trail Run is one of the toughest trail running challenges out there. Not only is the trail rugged and very technical, but the unpredictability of it makes it even more difficult to maneuver. Since rain and other natural causes can affect the trail, the terrain changes every year so even those who already competed on the same trail before won’t be able to really know what is in store this time around. To be able to successfully complete the race is a big achievement and you’ll surely feel great after.

With all that said, the Salomon X Trail Run is surely something you won’t want to miss. If you are unable to join the race in Subic, though, don’t fret. Two other races will be held in Davao and Iloilo later this year. What are you waiting for then? Grab your friends and enter this year’s Salomon X Trail Run for an adventure unlike any other.
