There’s a new restaurant in BGC that all lovers of astrology have to visit: Kas & Poly, where you can indulge in an expansive menu of Mediterranean cuisine, unique cocktails, and delicious coffee!
Located at W Global Center along 9th Avenue corner 30th Street, Kas & Poly is not at all a food spot that makes use of astrological themes merely for the gimmick. On the contrary, much thought and research was put into the ideation of each dish, from the flavors down to how they’re presented on the plate. Kas & Poly is also named after the two brightest stars of the Gemini constellation, Castor and Pollux.

“My business partner and I are both Geminis and we were just trying to think of what to put in BGC,” said Lorraine Consunji, the co-owner of Kas & Poly and one-half of Gemini Food Corp. which operates it. “And we thought that the fusion of Astrology [and Mediterranean food] is a novel idea that would be a reason for people to try us out.”
What this resulted in is a three-story cozy dining restaurant fit for families, couples, and solo diners, with dedicated spaces for both intimate functions and bigger events.

Of course, what makes Kas & Poly stand out is that it fully immerses you into the world of astrology, encouraging you to learn more about it. It’s a complete astrological journey from the moment you enter the building, where you receive a sticker that indicates your sun sign and allows the servers to recommend items from the menu that match your sign and your preference. Others might think this is limiting, but I like how it lets me experience dishes I wouldn’t normally order.
In my case, my sun sign is Leo and the dish themed after it is a pasta which I’m not a huge fan of eating. But I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it!
