The MTV Music Evolution 2016 Featured One Republic, Apink, JaDine, and more!

It was a rainy evening, but that didn’t stop the fans who waited at the venue as early as 5pm just to see their favorite celebrities perform on stage!

MTV Music Evolution 2016 opened the night with Mr. Pure Energy Gary V. and Super Selfie King Gab Valenciano’s “walang kupas” performance. It was clear to see how much love the Filipinos have for Gary V., fans of all ages cheered when Gary entered the stage! Inside the media room, some would even chatter “lumabas talaga ako nung si Gary na, eh.” Talk about dedication!

Up next was one of the hottest love teams of this generation, James Reid and Nadine Lustre. JaDine made the audience giggle with “kilig” as they sang the official soundtracks from their movies such as “Hanap-Hanap,” “No Erase,” “This Time,” and “Bahala Na.” The two didn’t shy away from showing the audience their affection for each other: the occasional staring into one another’s eyes, and the holding-hands-while-performing gesture. Too sweet!

Afterwards, international artist Bebe Rexha showcased girl power with her liberating hits “No Broken Hearts,” “Me, Myself, and I,” and “I’m Gonna Show You Crazy.” Korean girl group Apink was the fourth to perform. The girls, wearing their sailor outfits, represented the two sides of love: they sang post-breakup songs via “Remember” and “LUV,” and their confession songs “Mr. Chu” and “NoNoNo.”
