9 Underrated Walk the Moon Songs You Should Listen To

Walk The Moon

Walk the Moon in Manila

As a fan of Walk the Moon, it often pains me that most people only know their most popular song “Shut Up And Dance”. Don’t get me wrong; I love that song! It’s just that Walk the Moon has been around for more than a decade and you’d expect people to know more of their songs. Walk the Moon is an amazing band with equally amazing songs that deserve more attention.

Which songs should you listen to, though? It can be overwhelming to visit an artist’s Spotify profile and listen to their whole discography, so I thought I’d compile a list of Walk the Moon’s 9 best yet underrated songs for you to start with.

9 Underrated Walk the Moon Songs You Should Listen To

9. Anna Sun

Walk The Moon

“We got no money, but we got heart.”

You know how when you’re young and full of energy, you don’t really have the money for anything but that doesn’t stop you and your friends from having the time of your lives? That’s what this song is all about.

8. Surrender

Walk The Moon

“If all that I could ever be was the best ex lover of your life.”

This is my favorite song from their latest album, “What If Nothing”. I’m a sucker for songs that make me feel things and this is definitely one of them.

7. Shiver Shiver

Walk The Moon

“When you are close to me, I shiver.”

Some of the best songs are those that make you want to start dancing the moment you hear the intro. This song will make you want to get off your seat and start moving to the beat!

6. Tiger Teeth

Walk The Moon

“Love bites so deep, and we got tiger teeth.”

Just another song that will make you feel things. (I told you I’m a sucker for those!) Personal bias and feelings aside, this song is one of the best ones from their whole discography.

5. Different Colors

Walk The Moon

“When people get to dancing, they forget about taking sides.”

It’s no secret that people have different views on opinions, but that doesn’t mean we can’t let the music unite us, if even for just one song.

4. Headphones

Walk The Moon

“You can learn a lot from a good pair of headphones like how to take a beating. I know I did.”

This song is perfect for headbanging. Here’s what the band has to say about the song:

“The lyric comes out of the idea of going mad with jealousy, of seeing a person you love getting a lot of attention from someone else, and that just getting in your veins and under your skin and in your brain, in your dreams, voices in your head, and that’s a fun place to write from actually. That’s the best part of being a musician, anything that sucks you can take that and put it in a song.”

3. Portugal

Walk The Moon

“Even on your own, you are not alone.”

If you listen to the commentary of this song on Spotify, lead singer Nick Petricca explains that this song “is a reminder [that] there are people who I really, really love who are gone now and it’s my reminder that they are still close, and that they’re still a part of me and part of my life.”

2. Avalanche

Walk The Moon

“One glance and the avalanche drops. One look and my heartbeat stops.”

There’s a reason why this song was voted a fan favorite and a top song in their 2014 album, “Talking is Hard.” The song is crisp and light to the ears. Definitely one of my favorite performances from the band at their concert last week!

1. One Foot

Walk The Moon

“I got your back if you got mine.”

Okay, this probably isn’t that underrated given it’s also a bit popular; but a lot of people still have no clue this song exists when they really should. If you need a reminder to take it one step at a time and keep going, give this song a try.

As a bonus, we made a Spotify playlist of all of these songs just for you:
