Having both parents who care for you is more than enough reason to celebrate Valentines Day. Because. what greater love is there than your Mom and Dad’s love for you? Even if you’ve only a solo parent, or an aunt/uncle, or a lolo/lola, or even a non-related guardian who feeds and cares for you and guides you through this eternal conundrum that is life, there is still much cause for celebration. Go on a date with your parents. Buy your mom that dinner set she’s been eyeing at the department store. Give Dad a dozen of his favorite balut. Don’t wait for Mother’s/Father’s Day to show the adultiest adults in your life some love.

You may be a work in progress, yes, but do not forget you are still a work of art. If someone truly deserves all the love this V-day, it’s you, you magnificent beautiful creature! You may not have a man/woman in your life at the moment but it doesn’t mean you’re not great. Life may be tough right now but there’s still pizza and ice cream. Remember, before anything else, love yourself.
