27th Negros Trade Fair Kicks Off with The Governor’s Night

 

 

When in Manila, there are a number trade fairs held annually and this year’s 27th Negros Trade Fair kicks off their event with The Governor’s Night. This pre-trade fair gathering is actually a private cocktail reception hosted by Governor Alfredo Maranon Jr., the Provincial Officials of Negros Occidental and the 27th Negros Trade Fair. The Governor’s Night was held last September 25 at The Rockwell Tent for selected guests and included a special preview of the trade fair’s products.

Food and drinks flowed at The Governor’s Night as renowned Chef Tonyboy Escalante who is from Negros and owns the famous Antonio’s in Tagaytay, prepared dish after dish of mouthwatering canapes and desserts which included crab risotto cakes, beef on skewers and passion fruit and chocolate pavlova to name a few.

What everyone raved about that night was the unlimited oysters which was served fresh with lemon and condiments.

While guests were busy eating and drinking at the cocktails area, I checked out the exhibitors area with fellow When in Manila writer Paula de los Reyes. Being the longest running trade fair in the country, expect the 27th Negros Trade Fair to display high quality items. Offerings ranged from food, garments, fashion and home accessories some of which are featured here.

At the close of the 27th Negros Trade Fair’s Governor’s Night, the culminating activity was the screening of the movie Pureza, which tackles the subject of the Negros sugar industry.
