2014 Global Handwashing: Manila Water Foundation Educates Children About Handwashing
October 15 is Global Handwashing Day, a worldwide advocacy day –celebrated in over 70 countries– dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding about the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases. In the Philippines, Manila Water Foundation and Unilever are partnering together to raise awareness and most especially encourage everyone to make it a habit to wash their hands and create a healthy environment for themselves, their families and their loved ones.
The foundation will be having a week-long celebration that be held at various schools and malls nationwide. They will be teaching over 8,000 students in 5 schools the proper way of washing their hands through a physical demonstration. There will also be fun-filled activities where they will give out prizes from Scholastic Books, Manila Water Foundation, Unilever, Globe, Eveready, RiteMed, and many more other sponsors.
