12 Upcoming Disney Movies That Are Getting Us Super Excited!

The Good Dinosaur – November 2015

Now, The Good Dinosaur will be showing soon as its trailers have been showing in cinemas for a while now. Why I’m excited for this one? It’s been a while since I’ve seen dinosaurs in a form that doesn’t scare the bejeezus outta me. Having grown up with Denver the Last Dinosaur and Land Before Time, I think it would be nice to watch a non-adrenaline-filled dinosaur movie for a change. (I still love you, Jurassic Park franchise, dontcha worry!)

Despite the lightheartedness of the trailer that was shown here, though, director Peter Sohn says it’s going to be an emotional movie. Skip the makeup for this one, ladies. Remember Up!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens – December 2015

Being a huge Star Wars fan, it’s only natural for me to be the most excited about this one. I only have two words on why, really: Han. Solo. Aside from that, though, all of the trailers and photos that have been released so far look very promising. Let’s just hope they don’t pull another Phantom Menace on us.

This is the first Star Wars movie under the helm of Disney and I’ve got all of my fingers and toes crossed that it works out. With a lot of the original cast members in it, though, it must be good, right? Right? Right? (I need some major assurance here.)

Zootopia – March 2016

I admittedly don’t really know what to say about this one, so here’s the trailer:

This Disney movie looks quite different and I’m not quite sure how I feel about it yet.

The Jungle Book – 2016

Another live-action version of a beloved Disney classic is in the works: The Jungle Book. And, based on the feedback from the footage that was shown at D23, it looks like it is going to be amazing.

This really isn’t surprising, though, what with Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o and Bill Murray being part of it. Obviously, Murray is Baloo.

Alice Through the Looking Glass – May 2016

I don’t know how you guys feel about Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, but I felt like I was high throughout the entire movie (I swear I wasn’t!) and it just didn’t sit right with me. Is this going to be any better? I hope so.

The good news is that if you loved the first movie, you’re probably gonna love this one, too. The posters look like more of the same of the previous Alice in Wonderland film.

Moana – November 2016

Yes, a new Disney princess to add to the ever-growing roster that I will never get sick of seeing grow. Even Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is excited for this one, having stated that this is his heritage.

Moana is set in the ancient South Pacific world of Oceania and revolves around the life of a spirited teenager named, well, Moana. She is the first Pacific Islander princess. Ahhh. I’m still hoping to see a Filipina Disney princess. Haha. Am I deluded?

Are you a Disney baby, too? Which one of these movies are you most excited to see?
