Conceived in April 2025 and born just in time for Pride in the same year, Ang Kagila-gilalas na 1 Gay Show has been staged twice so far. Three Filipino monologues are recontextualized to fit the space, highlighting the process of entering and breaching a threshold and exiting toward the real world again, with all its outside noise and complications.
For Pride 2026, the team aims to reinterpret the show in the context of the current war and how it affects every single aspect of the world around us, even in lands seemingly distant enough to be untouched by immediate violence.
A small yet vibrant and deeply committed team of theater artists, the 1 GAY TEAM thrives on collaboration, precision, and a shared artistic vision. 1 Gay Show (Again and Again and Again…) stars Johann Dale Reyes as the titular one gay. The play is written and directed by Gio Potes, PB Maraña, and Jasper Villasis. The rest of the production team is rounded out by Phoebe Lina, Emman Degocena, Karlo Erfe, and Clara Senga in various roles behind the scenes.
