Then, come January 28 and 29, it’s SM Mall of Asia’s turn to host the 2012 Philippine Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Gi and No Gi International Open at its Music Atrium. I’m personally excited to see the higher belts from Atos, Deftac (Ribeiro), New Breed, Team Fabricio, among others, dance to the symphony of technique and explosiveness in this two-day event.

For BJJ practitioners who wish to join, the last day of registration is on January 25. A registration fee of PhP 950 is required to join either the BJJ Gi (Saturday, January 28) or No Gi (Sunday, January 29) event, while a discounted fee of PhP 1550 is given to those who join both events. Those interested can visit www.bjjfp.com for more details.

You might not see Mir take home Nogueira’s broken limb as a souvenir, but with live, free fights in two months’ time, Christmas came early for fight fans When in Manila.
