Life is an adventure, and along the way, we pick up experiences that we will hold on to for the rest of our lives. Perhaps it would teach us a lesson, lead us to learn something new about ourselves, and maybe even make us fall in love—be it with a person, a place, a hobby, or even more with ourselves.
We all have stories to tell—and for us, WIMterns from Batch 2, one of the chapters in our stories had just come to a conclusion. Although saying goodbye to something this wonderful makes us sad, we’re all still glad because it happened to us and we were able to include it in our journeys. After all, Steve Jobs had said it: “life is about creating and living experiences that are worth sharing” – and that’s just what we did!
So as our internship stint here in When in Manila ends, we look back on all the experiences and memories that we will cherish forever.

Personally, my favorite experience as a WIMtern was when I got sent to Shawn Mendes’ press conference in Manila. I had such a HUGE crush on Shawn Mendes. I even used to handle a fan update account on Twitter for him, so meeting him was the #dream! I still remember every single thing that happened that day, including accidentally meeting Donny Pangilinan (who’s also one of my celebrity crushes!) and getting him to say hi to my Youtube channel, despite being too kilig to function—especially after Shawn said it was nice to meet me!
Besides meeting their ultimate celebrity crushes/idols like I did, some WIMterns got assigned to their dream events, too. Some got to discover new favorite foods and restaurants, and even found some new BFFs along the way.
Here’s what my fellow WIMterns have to share about their favorite moments with WIM:

Meeting new friends. Seeking fun and adventure. Achieving goals. Making a name for yourself. Gaining experiences that you will treasure for the rest of your life.
That sums up my favorite WIMtern experience. To further explain, I’ve met a lot of friends and also connections that can help me in the future. Seeking fun and adventure especially when we have this feature at EK because I’m afraid of extreme rides and heights and also this feature in Duty Free wherein I conquer my fear of larger crowds. Achieving goals as WIM help me to achieve my goal to cover for Belle de Jour and to experience the life of enjoying food and events as what bloggers do. Making a name for yourself as you’re covering for major brands that I thought I’m not able to do that. And lastly, gaining experiences that you will treasure for the rest of your life, as being a WIMtern makes my last year in college a memorable one because going to features became my stress reliever as my last semester in college is a tough one but I’m glad I made it. Thank you When In Manila for having me, will treasure this for the rest of my life. *sobs*

I can’t say I’m a fitness enthusiast -hello, junk food- but I do love working out and trying new types of workouts. So my favorite WIMtern experience would be when we tried Aerial Hoops! It was so fun learning how to get into the hoop and to be honest, I felt like a strong af fairy princess when I got in and managed to hang semi-upside down! All my yoga practice came in handy. I felt graceful and strong at the same time (like Wonder Woman ???? ). Will definitely try it again with WIM friends!

Beyond the eating, I’d say my favorite WIM Experience is my coverage of the First Philippine Gunpla Expo. I guess this answer was expected seeing how I was tagged by co-interns and even admins when the assignment was posted online. Before then, I personally contacted Sam to call dibs on the event. What I didn’t expect, however, was that I would be doing all three essential coverage tasks: writing, photography, and videography. I had so much fun doing all three, in all honesty. I was able to hone my toy photography skills, as well as my videography and editing skills. At the end of the day, it was about the Expo. It was history in the making. No way am I missing out on that one, that’s for sure!
