Registration is now in full swing for the “Negros Occidental Environment & Sustainable Tourism Forum” this coming November 22 – 23, 2012organizedby theSociety for Sustainable Tourism & Development, Inc.(STTDI)at the L’Fisher Hotelin Bacolod City.

 

The public and private stakeholders from the tourism sector, government regulatory agencies, resort-hotels, transport, leisure and travel- related businesses, Organic Farming, handicrafts and trade SMEs, service providers, real estate developers, investors, non-government organizations, environmental and outdoor groups, civic clubs, the academe, as well as concerned individualswill enhance their knowledge on environmental responsibilities, sustainability principles and practices,best green and eco-friendly experiences after this forum.

Experts and resource persons invited include: GuilbertoBorongan,Programme Officer at the Regional Resource Center for Asia and Pacific (RRCAP) at the Asian Institute of Technology, Pathumthani, Thailand; Marco Andreozzi , CEO of Pegaso Canton  has a doctorate in Engineering Management, a global senior professional with substantial industrial practices in Low-carbon economy and sustainable energy resources; Carlos “Caloy” Libosada, co-founder of My Travel Asia has been a tourism advocate and practitioner on product development, destination planning, education, and information systems; Liza J. Paguntalan– Director for Field Operations of Philippines Biodiversity Conservation Foundation Inc.; Reinero “Rei” S. Medrano, Manager of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department of the Energy Development Corporation (EDC), a Filipino renewable energy company; DENR-EMB Region VI  Director Atty Jonathan P. Bulos; Atty. Wilfred Ramon Penalosa- Provincial Environment Management Office – PEMO; and Susan Santos de Cárdenas, Society for Sustainable Tourism & Development Inc.-SSTDI, CEO & President, Sustainability Guru of Asia Pacific specializing on Sustainability projects, Green Hotels and Events with Corporate and Community Social Responsibility (CSR) at grassroots application.

 

The forum is co-presented by international partners, Regional Resource Center for Asia and Pacific (RRCAP), Pegaso Canton, Green Hotels Asia, The Clean Blue Asia Pacific and national agencies, Department of Tourism, DENR-Environmental Management Bureau, the Office of the Governor of Negros Occidental and its Tourism Office, the Mayor of Bacolod City and Energy Development Corporation.
