Yellow Rose follows “Rose, an undocumented Filipino girl, [who] dreams of one day leaving her small Texas town to pursue her country music dreams. Her world is shattered when her mom suddenly gets picked up by immigration and Customs Enforcement. Rose, facing this new reality, is forced to flee the scene, leaving behind the only life she knows, and embarks on a journey of self-discovery as she searches for a new home in the honky tonk world of Austin, Texas.”

It premiered at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival on May 2, 2019, followed by a release on October 9, 2020. It has won 13 awards, including the People’s Choice Best Overall Feature at the 23rd Vancouver Asian Film Festival in 2019 and the Special Jury Prize at the 42nd Asian American International Film Festival.
