Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Kapamilya actor Xian Lim has kept himself busy with plenty of projects–from concluding his teleserye “Love Thy Woman” to helming an upcoming ventriloquism show with the Cultural Center of the Philippines titled “MALA.”
But what most people don’t know is that he’s also been making stunning art behind-the-scenes, which he just showcased last weekend at the Secret Fresh Gallery at Ronac Art Center in Ortigas.
The exhibit, titled “Everything Will Be Okay” which he launched under his other name, Alexander Lim, features a wide range of paintings that seemingly mirrors the grim reality we are currently facing while, at the same time, inspiring hope that the suffering won’t last forever.
“I’m not the type of artist to give any specific meaning to my work,” Xian told When In Manila in an exclusive interview. “I like letting the art speak for itself. No need for any description and just feel.”
Xian has previously organized other art exhibits around Metro Manila and abroad over the years, from underground pop-ups to major art fairs. “I’ve been painting since I was a kid. I wouldn’t call it a hobby. It’s just something I do,” he shared. “I don’t blast it on social media. I just pop up.”
