Woman in Cebu arrested after photocopying quarantine passes

A woman in Cebu was arrested for duplicating and reproducing quarantine passes amid the enhanced community quarantine in the province. The woman is currently facing charges for the violation of Article 172 of the revised penal code, in relation to Cebu City EO65.

The suspect was identified as 38-year-old Maria Rowena Sarsalejo.

She was arrested by the Waterfront police station last Monday, March 30. She was arrested after a Cebu City hall employee caught her reproducing copies of the pass at a photocopy shop nearby.

Reports say that she drew suspicion that was going to sell the duplicates of the quarantine passes.  However, she denied that she was going to sell these, saying that she was only duplicating them in case hers gets lost or wet.

Sarsajelo, a vegetable vendor in Cebu, plead for forgiveness after she got caught, saying that her actions weren’t meant to harm anyone.
