1.) Please describe your own personal style.
I like chic workwear with pops of color. I have a thing for structured clothes like lightweight blazers, and matching tops and bottoms. Whether it’s a chill day or a busy day, I like how these kinds of clothes could make you look so put together.
2.) If you were to choose one essential item in your wardrobe to wear everyday, what would it be and why?
That would have to be a white sheer top or blouse. It’s so easy to mix and match with different accessories, so it’s something that could be worn in almost any occasion without looking overdressed or underdressed.
3.) What is your favorite local clothing brand or who is your favorite Filipino fashion designer?
I like the quality, design, and advocacy of brands like ANTHILL Fabric Gallery, Vela Manila, and Tali.

My personal style is mostly in black and white and very chill.
Crop Top. I am always in a crop top, I actually lost count on how many I have. I would wear crop tops with pants, shorts or skirts. I find it very comfortable and it makes me look taller.
For rtw, I love forever21. They have all the things I love, from crop tops, cut out dresses to the really cute midi rings. For a Filipino Fashion designer, I love Banggo Niu and Twinkle Norte. I had the chance to wear their creations and it is very youthful and well made.

1.) Please describe your own personal style.
It’s a cross between rolled-out-of-bed cute and Manila casual (both terms I’ve just made up, haha!) I spend hours planning outfits that look like they were thrown together at the last minute. Never too polished or overthought, always comfortable and a bit undone. I’m also heavily inspired by LA and Sydney style bloggers, so my closet’s filled with a mix of basic tees, denim cut-offs, white flowy tops, and cute prints.
2.) If you were to choose one essential item in your wardrobe to wear everyday, what would it be and why?
I think it would have to be this pinstripe button-down that I bought in Bangkok five years ago. It’s incredibly versatile! It can be styled a million ways, and the fact that it’s been on heavy rotation in my closet for so long just proves its longevity. I’m all for pieces that transcend trends.
3.) What is your favorite local clothing brand or who is your favorite Filipino fashion designer?
I’m not really particular with brands or designers, but just because I’m super obsessed with delicate lace bras at the moment, I will admit that I’ve been stalking Beetroot (@beetrootph) on Instagram and their website an obscene lot lately. Can’t wait for them to restock their bestsellers!

My style is classic and sophisticated with a little edge, but not grungy. I love to be experimental all the time, and there’s this thing I call Style Paradox, wherein I mix two or more different styles in one outfit to create a whole new look. I like black and white and other neutral colors.
A classic Little Black Dress could never go wrong! I believe that ladies should invest not just in basics, but classics. And an LBD is definitely a closet staple. You can wear it as it is on lazy days or you can play around with accessories to accentuate it and you’re ready for the night.
I’m a huge fan of Haute Couture, so I’d say Michael Cinco. I love his intricate pieces and I’m dreaming of wearing one of his creations someday! They say, we should love our own, so I am claiming Kailé Clothing (my own line) as my favorite local clothing brand 😉

Valerie Tan is a TV and Events Host. She is also a segment host and producer for News To Go on GMA News TV 11. She has been a beauty and lifestyle blogger since 2011, sharing about beauty, fashion, travel, fitness, food, etc. She is also a commercial model having done lead roles for commercials that aired in the Philippines, USA and Cambodia.
My style is very girly and feminine. I love being a girl and all the perks that come with it – dressing up, putting on makeup, wearing dresses and heels.
One essential item is a good pair of jeans. It goes well with shirts, blouses, polos, and at the same time, you can dress it down by pairing it with sneakers and dress it up by wearing heels.
I like Maldita because their clothes are fashionable but not too trendy, classy and affordable.
