God bless the Brits. Some of the best shows we’ve seen come from the UK instead of Hollywood, plus they gave us amazing music like The Beatles. Oh, and they have these adorable traditions that just spell classy and timeless, like this low-key, traditional way Kit Harington and Rose Leslie announced their engagement!
Although the two Game of Thrones stars have made headlines earlier this week due to their reported betrothal (yes, we are using this word!), instead of going all out in a glamorous and excessive photo shoot or posting a cheesy Instagram photo like their Hollywood peers, they decide to go the old-fashioned route: by having it announced in the local newspaper.

What’s great about this announcement, even, is that anyone could miss it for just any other person’s ad, and not of the Game of Thrones couple we know and love.
They’re not the first English actors to do so: Benedict Cumberbatch also did it for his own engagement announcement to now-wife Sophie Hunter, being the proper English gent he is.
