One of the anticipated movies of 2017 is the sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is set two months after the first film, and hopes to unravel the mystery behind Star-Lord’s father.
A new TV spot has just been released, and you can watch it below:
In the trailer, we see the Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket Racoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper), and of course, Baby Groot (voiced by Vin Diesel), being outnumbered as they try to flee. The trailer ends with Nebula (Karen Gillan) not knowing the team’s name.
The first film was released in 2014, and followed a group of extraterrestrial misfits after its leader, the Star-Lord, stole a mysterious orb. It received critical and commercial acclaim, with Rotten Tomatoes calling it “funny, thrilling, full of heart, and packed with visual splendor.” It went on to earn $773.3 million worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe canon, right behind The Avengers and Iron Man 3.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will premiere on May 5.
