WATCH: This Croatian Singer Released an Original Song in Tagalog

This 26 year-old Croatian beauty may not have Filipino blood, but she proudly considers herself “Pinay at heart”.

Marija Debelic, who has been in Manila for almost five years now, is happy to launch her very first single called “Dame”, composed together with Archie Malate, Kim David Obejas, and Daniel Gerardo Ytterdahl. The song tells a story about a girl who is carefully choosing a man to be with among her suitors.

“It’s about finding a quality person who will stick with you no matter what. Masaya po ako that I get to sing this song in Tagalog, my second language, and [that I get to] work with an amazing team,” Marija says.

The dancer, model, host and actress chose the Philippines to be her second home over the many places she’s been. “I love the country! Sobra! The people are very hospitable and warm to be with, [and] i’m in love with the delicacies such as polvoron. I can eat more than 10 polvorons a day!

shares the 26-year-old vegan.

Marija starred in the ABS-CBN drama Be My Lady, and the movie Beauty and the Bestie. She is also comedian Jose Manalo’s leading lady in the movie Boy Tokwa, and has done over 20 TV commercials in the Philippines. Marija is currently working on a leading role with Netflix on a project called “Fusion”, and is hosting the country’s first video game variety TV show oneup.

But not only that; Marija proves to be an epitome of beauty and brains, as she graduated cum laude in economics and dreams of building her own business one day.

“Dame” is available on Spotify, Youtube, Apple Music, iTunes and Dezeer.
