A reboot of The Mummy franchise is happening, and Hollywood A-lister Tom Cruise will be filling in for the lead role. The last The Mummy franchise first took over the theaters in 1999, followed by The Mummy Returns in 2001, and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor in 2008. The last franchise’s leading role was portrayed by Brendan Fraser.

The Mummy reboot, which will hit the big screens in June 2017, will revolve around he story of an ancient princess who is “awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension,” according to IMDB synopsis.
Alongside Tom Cruise, the film also stars Sofia Boutella, Anabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, and Russell Crowe.
