It’s easy to mistake Philippine politics for a movie, what with the colorful characters and almost unbelievable stories. Indeed, life imitates art and that’s what director Adolfo Alix, Jr. did for Whistleblower. In this movie, Alix tells the story of an accountant who becomes part of a national scandal involving a businesswoman and her greedy politician friends. Sounds familiar?
The official trailer was recently released after a series of thrilling teasers. The trailer looks promising, especially with the talented cast including Nora Aunor, Cherry Pie Picache, and Angelica Panganiban.
Alix is a known director who was behind the successful films Donsol, Manila, Presa, and Muli. Whistleblower took two years to be released, after it was supposed to screen at the 2014 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
Whistleblower will open the second CineFilipino Film Festival on March 15, and will have a theatrical release beginning April 6.
