Teen girl detective is hitting the big screen soon. The trailer of Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase is now out. It gives an exciting look as Sophia Lillis from It debuts as the feminist mystery-solving icon.
Watch the trailer below.
Sophia was cast in early 2018 as Nancy Drew, a teenage detective who has captured the minds of young readers since she first debuted in Carolyn Keene’s novels in 1930.
In the last adaptation, Emma Roberts played the role of the iconic detective in the 2007 version of Nancy Drew. However, it was a silly and stodgy portrayal of the straight-laced junior detective who gets transplanted to Los Angeles. In the upcoming film, we will see an edgier version of Nancy Drew, with Sophia playing an outsider with a “penchant for keen observation and deduction.”
Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase focuses on the smart high school detective who stumbles upon the haunting of a local house. An outsider who struggles to fit into her new home, Nancy makes a couple of close friends who set out with her solve the mystery. She still seems to sport her iconic skateboard as she solves mysteries during her free time.
We still have no information about its release date.
