WATCH: E.T. Reunites with Elliott After 37 Years

ET Elliott

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial is considered as one of the best films to have ever been released. For those who haven’t seen it yet, it’s a timeless story of a young boy who befriends an alien stranded on Earth. It was released in 1982 but its cultural impact is still felt today. If you need proof, just check out the close to 10 million views its follow-up gained when it was released two days ago.

In the four-minute clip, Elliott reunites with his friend E.T. What makes this moment tender is that Henry Thomas, who played Elliott in 1982, is back, this time as a father. Another is that it’s been 37 years since they last met.

Watch it below:

In the clip, Elliott introduces E.T. to his family, along with advances in technology such as streaming and the internet. His kids also bond with the extraterrestrial, even reenacting one of the most iconic scenes in E.T.

So what made them reunite? It’s an ad for telecommunications company Xfinity, which had the tagline “Reconnect for the holidays.”

Ad or not, it will surely bring a tear to those who grew up with the movie.
